Best sunsets in town. I shouldn’t write anything more, that should do it. Best sunsets in town, period. I just can’t put it into words. The light, the wind, and the smells of the arid Cycladic earth serve as potent mood changers. No room for stress or negativity. Everything goes away, no shrinks, no drugs, and no need for music. Just listen to the nature’s sounds. Nothingness is overpowering.

Two thousand square meters of exterior areas and a house of a little over one hundred square meters can entertain a party of six and serve as the setting of a memorable vacation. A ground floor encompassing an open plan kitchen, a custom made dining table, a sitting area, a bathroom, a fireplace, and a spacious sofa which – if need be – sleeps two. Porch windows open to a stone tiled exterior area where the main dining table – seats eight – rests under a reed straw pergola. The custom outdoor table, crafted by an artist, is made of blue, red, and yellow tiles. A bare attic hosting a small double bed and a bookshelf – hosting a collection of Vanity Fair magazines - overlooks the sitting area; ideal space for a couple of lovers.

Placed in the lower and cooler level, the master bedroom and a smaller second bedroom can accommodate four adults, and if need be five since there is an extra sofa in a space adjacent to the main bedroom. There is a second bathroom in the same level. Porch windows open to a stone tiled area connecting the bedroom with the lower exterior area and garden. This is my favorite breakfast spot since it is protected from the sun’s rays ‘till midday. The two benches and the chaise longues can sit all the house guests around a custom made table to feast a hearty Mediterranean breakfast or to sip early evening ouzo while playing petanque.

Did I say playing? My petite Old Trafford extends over fifty meters and ends just where the horizon unfolds or where the ball gets trampled by the neighbor’s goat. The playfield where I and my son play football (aka soccer in some cultures) 1970s style, has no grass, no tarmac, just the plain old soil, the occasional stone, the dust, the heat and the sweating of a middle aged dad getting his butt whipped by a couple of 4 year olds, moments short of a cardiac arrest…

I would be more than happy to host you in our vacation home, to give you all the inside info about Kea, to accommodate your special needs and to make you feel at home. After all this is what Greece should be about, the world’s second home. Families with children are especially welcomed!

Comfortable, Functional, Modern

Constantine ´s house, perched on top of a hill is a true gem! Staying there allows you to connect with the incredible surrounding nature, the amazing view, the sunsets, scents and light. The house is very comfortable and functional, modern and well-equipped.

10 days in Pop house

The house is excellent, very well equipped and with a stunning view. I thought 10 days were too long stay, but the island has much to offer. Is full of terrain roads but it's not worth to rent 4x4, a regular car is enough.

Kea is a Gem ... !!!

We enjoyed our 7 nights stay at this house a lot. Kea is a little gem - not too much tourists, very friendly people, good food and fantastic surroundings. Constantine was replying quickly before our arrival and Kiki did a great job in introducing the house and Kea in general. For any kind of questions she was available. The streets on the island are a little adventure in the beginning but we got used to it quite quickly. All in all we had a fantastic time!

As Good As Santorini

If you are seeking the best view on the Aegean then you are right here! The sunset is as gorgeous as in Santorini but without the soundtrack of Wagner´s The Ride of the Valkyries. The place is located way up in the hills and can be reached via winding asphalted and dirt roads. Don´t come with your Lamborghini! Our record from the harbor was 11 minutes with a normal car. Very quiet, very peaceful up there. The house is spacious and tastily furnished. Maybe some shelves in the bathrooms, additional towels and a toaster could be great supplements. The host Costas is very kind, humorous, communicative and caring. Thanks for hosting us!

Spectacular !!!

We stayed at the Pop House for 11 days with our friends and kids (4 adults + 3 kids). The view is indeed spectacular and doesn't get old even after 10 days. The house itself is very clean, spacious, nicely furnished and has all the necessary amenities (washing machine, dishwasher, kitchen utensils etc.), the beds are very comfortable. One thing to note - if you are traveling with toddlers - you will need to watch the kids closely inside and outside. Inside the stairs are quite steep and we decided not to use the mezzanine at all because it seemed to risky with the children (still there was enough space for the 7 of us in the other areas). Outside - the house is on a hillside and the fence on the upper terrace is quite low so the kids could fall down if they are not careful. That said, in the end it was not too much of a hassle given that in return you get the magnificent views and a great house. And if you are traveling without small kids, then you will simply love it. The house is quite close to 2 main towns on Kea and the road to get there is mostly paved. We had 2-wheel-drive cars and could drive it even during and after 2 days of heavy rain, when some of the other roads on the island became quite challenging. We spent most days on Xyla beach which is ca. 15 mins drive. As for the island of Kea - we were surprised to see that in the 2nd half of Sep there were practically no tourists: we had the beaches almost all to ourselves (and chairs and umbrellas for free) but also most restaurants were pretty empty. And it really is off the beaten tourist path, in a good way - no big resorts, not many souvenir shops; it was actually challenging to buy a postcard! Finally, Constantine was very kind and responsive (and I did ask him a ton of questions before arriving and during our stay).

Tranquil, Peaceful, Soul-filling

This is a place for shedding the stresses of work and life. The vistas are grand and awe-inspiring; the sunsets fill the soul. It's literally at the end of the road, sitting on a ridge with six other houses on one side, but it's the highest and the last so plenty private. I spent a few days here with my wife and 6-month old. We came stressed and we left rejuvenated. We also entertained up to eight other adults and kids overnight on short rotations. The house itself is beautiful, functional and fully-equipped, particularly the kitchen. There are beds for six people in two rooms and a loft and there are three other beds/sleeping couches that can accommodate more. (A baby bed was provided on request.) Kea itself is off the beaten path in terms of tourists. We enjoyed the green of spring, but it's generally fairly dry. There are some nice beaches and they can all be found within a maximum of 30 minutes from the house. Don't miss the great Greek food at any of a number of restaurants and cafes. This is an island and house for escaping the rat race of life and slowing way down. It's a place to read books (or write them), meditate and invest in those important relationships with people you love. Constantine is a fabulous host. Funny and irreverent, he worked overtime to keep us happy and knew all the necessary details about the island. If this is what you're looking for, look no further! Highly, highly recommended.

Perfect Stay

It was perfect stay during 30 days with my family. Absolutely calm place with amazing panoramic view. The Kea Family Homes people were very kind. Lots of small harbours on the island, good local wines, meat, fish. Just all what you need to enjoy your stay and get rest.

The Pop House is such a wonderful place to relax and rewind

We loved spending two great weeks there with our little baby and three of our friends. Kea is off the beaten tourist track, but pure magic. Deserted beaches with crystal clear water ... And the view! is just breathtaking. At first we could only see the dryness of the landscape. But slowly we started to appreciate the golden streaks, noticing all the different shades of green, the hints of purple, the pink dots, even some lost sheep and at last our eyes could spot the hidden old shacks down the hillside. We could sit for hours just watching the time pass, the weather come and go, the changing lights, the starry sky. A perfect place to enjoy cooking, reading and talking, highly recommended. We would love to come back! And Constantine is the friendliest and most professional host! I have to admit I bombarded him with questions, but he answered them all gracefully, which made traveling with a baby so much easier. Thank you so much!!
